We are seeking an experienced Per Diem Pharmacist to enhance our dynamic and impressive Pharmacy team! The chosen candidate should possess a great attitude, a passion for learning, a commitment to helping others and excellent customer service.  The Per Diem Pharmacist is responsible for implementing the pharmaceutical activities of HOPES and overseeing the Pharmacy Technicians.

Northern Nevada HOPES is a community health and wellness center serving the Northern Nevada area.  We are a non-profit community health center located in a historic and quaint area of downtown Reno, Nevada. Our expert care teams provide integrated medical and wellness services to individuals and families in our community. The Per Diem Pharmacist is responsible for daily clinical functions of the HOPES pharmacy. The clinical pharmacist is responsible for serving patients, preparing and dispensing medications, giving pharmacological information to the patients and to the multidisciplinary team and monitoring patient drug therapies. HOPES has an integrated team model approach to patient care. Part of the clinical pharmacist’s responsibility may include participation in organization wide Patient Centered Medical Home activities to enhance patient care. As quality is every employee’s responsibility, the Clinical Pharmacist is required to uphold all standards and policies, and participate in quality improvement processes and meetings.

We’re looking for:

  • Pharm D Licensed in the state of Nevada.
  • Two or more years of pharmacy-retail experience.
  • Experience working with HIV population and HIV medications preferred.
  • Ability to supervise medication purchases for all programmatic inventories.
  • Ability to maintain daily perpetual inventory.
  • Must check/fill prescriptions in accordance with Nevada State and Federal law.
  • Ability to counsel patients regarding their medications including but not limited to adherence, side effects, drug interactions, dosing schedules, etc.
  • Excellent customer service and client relation skills.
  • Don’t be a jerk . . . because the Pharmacy team needs you to be compassionate as well as having excellent interpersonal/customer service skills for your customers and your co-workers!
