Ryan Wong, who began practicing medicine in 2023 and is NCCPA Board Certified, is passionate about healthcare. Growing up in a rural and medically underserved community in Nevada, his passion for health equity is deeply rooted. Ryan believes that everyone should receive quality healthcare regardless of age, race & ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. As an LGBTQ+ Asian American, he has personally experienced challenges and barriers in the healthcare system, further fueling his dedication to health equity. With over 11 years of professional experience in collegiate education, academic research, and public health, Ryan is excited to help patients realize and achieve their personal healthcare goals. His passion is reflected in a collaborative approach centered on patient autonomy, evidence-based medicine, preventative lifestyle changes, and referrals to appropriate resources, empowering individuals to make well-informed decisions about their health. Ryan is also excited to serve the LGBTQ+ community by providing gender affirming care.

Ryan chose to work at HOPES due to its unique multidisciplinary, collaborative, team-based approach to patient care. He values the opportunity to work alongside licensed behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, dieticians, case managers, nurses, certified MAs, and various experienced providers to address the concerns and needs of his patients. Furthermore, Ryan joined HOPES because of its commitment to serving populations that are often underserved or resource-limited, including those who are undocumented, non-insured, housing insecure, LGBTQ+, HIV, PrEP, PEP, and Hepatitis C patients. He is excited and proud to be part of a team that is committed to serving diverse communities.

Personal Interests:
Outside of medicine you can find Ryan supporting local businesses, searching for new restaurants via Yelp, chasing waterfalls, hiking, fishing, archery, and snow shoeing throughout Northern Nevada. He enjoys visiting State and National Parks and is hoping to someday visit all 63. Ryan is also a fan of the Office, Schitt’s Creek, the MCU, and Harry Potter Films.
