HOPES Becomes Kids Café Site To Feed Children During Summer Break

Today, Northern Nevada HOPES joined with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada as a Kids Café site to provide free, daily lunches for children and teens while school is out for the summer.

The free lunch program will run from June 13 to August 4 at HOPES at 580 W. Fifth St. Meals will be served Monday through Friday from 11:30 am to noon for children 18 years of age and younger.

The program is open to all children – they do not have to be enrolled as a HOPES patient or attend a nearby school, or have any sort of documentation. All children who show up will be fed a healthy sack lunch with fruits, vegetables, milk and more.

Northern Nevada HOPES is already a mobile food pantry drop-off site for the Food Bank. HOPES staff was happy to take another opportunity to join with the Food Bank to provide a vital service to the downtown community.
