The MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) Provider, under the direct supervision of the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, is responsible for ensuring the efficient treatment of patients in the MAT Program. HOPES has an integrated team model approach to patient care. Part of the MAT Provider’s responsibility includes participation in organization wide Patient Centered Medical Home activities to enhance patient care which includes weekly department meetings and staffings.

Specifically the MAT Provider will:

  • Provide direct medical care for (MAT) Medication Assisted Treatment Program.
  • Triage patient complaints, appropriately routing patient follow-up and acting as a liaison to the behavioral health department and case management department
  • Provide care for all walk-in patients by obtaining a medical history, performing an appropriate physical exam and formulating an appropriate treatment plan. The MAT provider will order laboratory or radiological studies as deemed appropriate to permit evaluation of problems.
  • Provide for consultation, in person or by phone, per the regulations of the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners and the Nevada Board of Nursing, as well as internal policy
  • Demonstrate proficiency in documenting in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Participate in Team Meetings and actively contribute to the formulation of treatment plans for patients
  • Evaluate laboratory results and assign appropriate follow-ups on abnormal lab work.
  • Provide assistance to RNs, MAs and other MAT Team members in the case management of complicated patients with multiple psychosocial stressors and barriers to care
  • Participate in MAT Quality Improvement Projects as designated

We are looking for:

  • MD, DO, Physician’s Assistant or APRN with a specialty in in primary care licensed in the State of Nevada; evidence-based and team-based
  • Graduation from an accredited institution and passage of licensure exam
  • State of Nevada License, Nevada Certificate of Registration to Prescribe Controlled Substances, Buprenorphine Waiver
  • Knowledge of the treatment protocols for patients with multiple diagnosis including co-occurring disorders
  • Working knowledge of substance abuse, the effects of drugs and alcohol abuse and prevention methods and techniques
  • A passionate provider with a heart for our mission and  our patients
  • A superb communicator, helping patients connect with their primary team and other services
  • Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of variables
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions; sound therapeutic boundaries
  • Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and to enhance teamwork in the clinic and overall HOPES organization
  • Bilingual a plus!
