The New Healthcare.gov Website
The US Department of Health and Human Services just launched a new healthcare.gov website that is easier to navigate, mobile-compatible, and features more information on the upcoming Health Insurance Marketplace. In addition, the Spanish language sister site, Cuidadodesalud.gov, has been updated to match the new look and feel of the Healthcare.gov website for Spanish-speaking consumers.
Newly Eligible for Medicaid
Thanks to the Affordable Care Act and its Medicaid expansion provision, more Americans will be eligible for Medicaid, which means more Americans will have health coverage beginning in 2014:
Sandoval’s Support of Medicaid Expansion
Last month, Governor Sandoval became the first Republican leader to agree on expanding Medicaid across Nevada. Sandovals support of Medicaid expansion ensures that 78,000 additional low-income Nevadans will receive health insurance coverage and access to care under the Affordable Care Act. An estimated 21% of Nevadans live in poverty, and 22% have no health insurance.
