Northern Nevada HOPES, also called HOPES, is a nonprofit community health center with two locations in downtown Reno, Nevada. Our expert care teams provide integrated medical and wellness services to individuals and families.

What makes HOPES different from other healthcare providers?
We provide a range of comprehensive, patient-centered services in convenient downtown locations.
We work as a team to bring you care that addresses all of your health needs, as well as other factors that affect your health.
We welcome individuals with insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare, as well as individuals without insurance. We adjust costs based on what you can pay.
We are a safe and accepting place for people of all backgrounds to access affordable, high-quality care.
We provide services in English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and German.

Can anyone come to HOPES for care?
Anyone can become a patient at HOPES. We offer adult and pediatric primary care, and we provide services to the insured and uninsured. We welcome everyone and provide a safe and accepting place to access comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare services.
How do I become a new patient?
If you are a new patient, we can help you schedule your first appointment, often within a week or two after calling. Call 775-786-4673 during clinic hours (Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am–7:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm) to get started.
Can I get a prescription for opioid medications like Vicodin or Oxycontin?
Our providers may prescribe controlled substances when clinically appropriate, but only after a thorough evaluation. We follow evidence-based guidelines and require certain safeguards—such as treatment agreements and monitoring—to ensure safe and effective care tailored to your needs.
Do I need to be a HOPES patient to use case management services?
Yes. To use HOPES services, such as case management, you need to first be established as a primary care patient at HOPES.
When you’re a patient, do you have access to all HOPES services?
Certain services, such as housing assistance and transportation, require an additional assessment with our Eligibility & Intake department.
What are the benefits of using the HOPES pharmacy?
By filling your prescriptions at the HOPES pharmacy, you get convenient access to your medications right where you see your providers. An added benefit is those dollars support many HOPES services, including discounted primary care, behavioral health counseling, and transportation. HOPES patients also enjoy free medication delivery within the Reno-Sparks area. Call the pharmacy at 775-348-1306 to learn more.
Do I need to be a HOPES patient to use their Behavioral Healthcare?
No, you can call to establish Behavioral Healthcare or visit the Mental Health Access Clinic.

Does HOPES accept all insurance plans?
HOPES accepts most insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. We also see patients without insurance and use a sliding fee scale, which adjusts the cost based on what you can pay. Our Eligibility & Intake department meets with all new patients to ensure they have easy access to affordable healthcare services at HOPES.
What if I don't have insurance?
We welcome the uninsured. For those living at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), we offer discounted services based on a sliding fee scale.
I have questions about signing up for health insurance. Can HOPES help?
Yes. At HOPES, you’ll have access to our onsite insurance enrollment team that can answer your questions and help you navigate the Health Insurance Marketplace. Call 775-786-4673 to get more information about insurance enrollment.

How can I make a donation to HOPES?
You can donate to HOPES on our website, or by mailing a check to Northern Nevada HOPES, 580 West 5th St., Reno, NV 89503. For all other gifts, please email marketing@nnhopes.org.
