The Summer of Love is Northern Nevada HOPES’ celebration of belonging. A reminder that care rooted in dignity, humanity, and compassion has the power to change lives.
All summer long, we’ll share stories from patients, providers, staff, and community partners that show what love looks like in action at HOPES. These stories reflect the profound impact of being seen, supported, and connected through accessible, judgment‑free care.
This summer also marks a meaningful moment for our organization: 15 years of leadership by CEO Sharon Chamberlain, whose vision and lived experience have helped strengthen a culture where people are welcomed fully and cared for without question.

Belonging isn’t abstract – it’s lived, felt, and built over time. Sharon Chamberlain’s story reflects what’s possible when people are welcomed and supported with dignity. Having experienced homelessness herself, Sharon understands firsthand the life‑changing power of belonging.
As CEO of Northern Nevada HOPES for the past 15 years, her leadership has helped shape a culture where patients, staff, and community members are seen, valued, and embraced.

Accessible Health Care in Action
A 28 year old Charli navigating personal barriers arrived at HOPES during a period of significant stress. Their ADHD made everyday tasks — scheduling appointments, following up on referrals, even identifying what support to ask for — feel overwhelming. Each missed call or unanswered question added to a growing sense of frustration and isolation.
Kitty Kisses Shares the Love
This August, HOPES is proud to partner with Kitty Kisses Cat Café through its Cats for a Cause initiative. Throughout the month, $5 from every cat adoption at Kitty Kisses will be donated directly to us to support our mission of providing high-quality healthcare, behavioral health services, and essential resources
