What makes you passionate about the behavioral health field?
I am deeply passionate about behavioral health because I believe that every child and family deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported. I believe that early intervention, empathy and collaboration can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where children and their families can explore challenges, build resilience, and strengthen their relationships. Helping children and their families discover their strengths and supporting them in navigating life’s complexities are all things I am very passionate about.
Why did you join HOPES?
I joined NN HOPES because I wanted to be part of an organization that puts people first and works to break down barriers to care, rather than put them up. HOPES’ commitment to providing accessible, compassionate and comprehensive care aligns with my own values and beliefs that quality behavioral health care should be available to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. Being here also allows me to collaborate with a team that shares my dedication to equity, inclusion and creating lasting positive change in our community.
My favorite hobbies
Outside of work I stay active by going to the gym as well as teaching dance, which has been a lifelong passion of mine. I also enjoy teaching at the University of Nevada, Reno for the social work department. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with my family and making memories with my children.
