Maternal mental health is about more than clinical care—it’s about belonging, compassion, and support during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions. Across the U.S., up to 1 in 5 mothers experience a mental health condition during pregnancy or postpartum, yet many go without care due to stigma or access barriers.
At Northern Nevada HOPES, our Summer of Love celebration reflects a simple but powerful truth: care should meet people where they are. Rooted in dignity, humanity, and compassion, this campaign highlights how accessible, judgment-free care helps individuals and families feel seen, supported, and connected.
Throughout the Summer of Love, we’re bringing this vision to life by uplifting stories of care, creating meaningful opportunities for connection, and expanding access to services that support the whole person. It’s a reminder that love isn’t just a feeling—it’s something we show through action, community, and care that meets people in every stage of life.
This is especially important for maternal mental health. When care meets families with love and belonging, it creates space for healing, trust, and resilience. Mothers who feel supported are better able to care for themselves and their children—strengthening the foundation for healthy families and thriving communities.
“Love is maternal health, ensuring families begin their journeys with dignity, confidence, and the support they deserve from their very first day.”
— Teresita E., Perinatal Care Coordinator
Through our Summer of Love, HOPES brings this vision to life by expanding access to behavioral health services, offering wraparound support, and ensuring that every parent feels welcomed without judgment.
Support families in accessing essential resources and care.
