As we wrap up our Summer of Love campaign, we’re reflecting on the stories that have shown us what belonging truly looks like in action.
This summer, we shared stories of healing, connection, and community: a child finding safety and trust in the Play Therapy Room, a local designer bringing people together through creativity and generosity, a decades-long partnership rooted in service and advocacy, and patients finding accessible, judgment-free healthcare when they needed it most.
While each story was unique, they all reflected the same truth: when people are welcomed with compassion, dignity, and respect, healing follows. Whether it’s through a moment of emotional breakthrough, a community event, a lasting partnership, or a healthcare visit, belonging has the power to change lives.
Thank you to our patients, staff, donors, volunteers, and Summer of Love sponsor NV Energy Foundation for making these stories possible. Your support helps create a community where everyone is seen, valued, and cared for, exactly as they are.
As we close out Summer of Love, we’re also honored to celebrate Sharon Chamberlain’s 15th anniversary as CEO of Northern Nevada HOPES. Her vision, leadership, and personal commitment to belonging have helped shape HOPES into the welcoming, compassionate organization it is today, ensuring that thousands of people across northern Nevada have access to the care and support they deserve.
Because at HOPES, love doesn’t end in the summer. It lives on in every person who finds healing, every community member who feels they belong, and every life changed through compassionate care.
