HOPES Hosts Biggest Fundraiser Of The Year–Dining Out For Life On April 30

(Reno, Nev.) April 28, 2015 – Dining Out For Life comes back to Reno on April 30. The event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for local non-profit community health center, Northern Nevada HOPES.

Dining Out For Life (DOFL) is an international fundraiser with big local impact. Participating restaurants automatically donate part of their proceeds on April 30 to organizations like HOPES that support people living with HIV/AIDS in their communities.

More than 50 restaurants in the Reno/Sparks and Carson City areas are participating in this year’s DOFL event. Those looking to help by dining out can go to DOFLNV.org to see which restaurants will donate to HOPES, how much they will be donating and what meals those restaurants will be donating funds from.

All the money raised in Northern Nevada stays in the local community and is earmarked specifically for HIV/AIDS care and support. For every dollar given to HOPES, 92 percent goes directly to patient care.

Internationally, DOFL raised more than $4 million last year. It has support in 60 cities and has assisted more than 350,000 clients. Celebrity advocates promote the event as well, such as Ted Allen, host of Food Network’s Chopped.

“Here is a very simple way that all of us can make a meaningful contribution to this fight, just by doing something you do any day, which is going out to eat.” Allen said in an interview with HOPES. “It benefits chefs, it benefits restaurants, and it gives us a chance to try a new place.”

HOPES is also proud to have A and H Insurance Inc., Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Tahoe Blue Vodka, Yelp, Pacific States Communications, NAE, Utility Telephone and MAC Cosmetics sponsoring the event.

Participating restaurants include: 1864 Tavern, 5 Star Saloon, Adele’s Restaurant & Lounge, A Taste of Thai, Anthony’s Dandelion Deli & Café, Batch Cupcakery, BJ’s Nevada Barbecue Company, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Buenos Grill, Cafe de Thai, Campo, Cantina Los Tres Hombres, Crème Café, Dish Café & Catering, Dreamer’s Coffeehouse, Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, Flowing Tide Pub, The Grill At Quail Corners, Homage Bakery and Coffeehouse, The Jungle, Los Compadres, Mario’s Portofino Ristorante Italiano, Men Wielding Fire, Noble Pie Parlor, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Nothing To It!
