Renown Health contributed $250,000 to Northern Nevada HOPES to help build its upcoming community wellness center.
To date, HOPES has raised $2.75 million towards its capital campaign goal of $5 million to build the Stacie Mathewson Community Wellness Center. Organizational support for the new building includes Stacie Mathewson, The Nell J. Redfield Foundation, Renown Health, Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation, E.L. Cord Foundation, Bank of America, NV Energy, and LP Insurance.
HOPES serves as a “patient-centered medical home” and works with patients to manage their medical issues early on to prevent the need for emergency medical intervention.
“HOPES is a natural partnership for Renown,” said President and CEO Tony Slonim, MD, DrPH. “Northern Nevada HOPES benefits the entire community and empowers patients to manage their health in the most convenient and cost effective setting. We are really proud of the good work they are doing.”
HOPES still has $2.25 million left to raise to meet its capital campaign goal. There are plenty of naming opportunities available for many levels of giving, including naming designation for the patient lobby at $1 million and options as low as $100.
HOPES started construction of its new three-story, 37,400 square-foot medical facility in December of 2014. Construction crews are expected to complete the project in late 2015. The project has generated 105 construction jobs and will add 43 new permanent positions to HOPES’ existing 52-person workforce.
The new building will house 42 exam rooms. It will allow HOPES to expand its healthcare services to include a Wellness Clinic, a Pediatric Clinic, an Adult Clinic, and a Radiology and Diagnostic Lab.
In 2014, HOPES provided comprehensive medical care to 3,470 patients. HOPES expects the new community health center to serve 10,000 patients a year by 2016.
