What makes you passionate about the behavioral health field?
Behavioral health holds a special place in my heart as this is a core issue in our society and culture that is usually overlooked. I have learned that behavioral health is not just about “fixing” behaviors, but focusing on self-compassion, patience, understanding, and curiosity about ourselves and the world.
Why did you join HOPES?
I joined HOPES because this was the community I grew up in and the types of services that gave my family and myself the opportunity to feel cared about. I always knew I wanted to work with my community and give others a chance to have the same resources I did, especially involving mental health. HOPES has allowed me to reach my goal of giving back and increasing access to mental health care to communities who have never had the chance to prioritize this.
My favorite hobbies
When I am not in the office, you can find me tangled in string as I learn new crocheting patters, out in the forest hiking and enjoying the views, or spending time with my family.
