America discovered her passion for the behavioral health field when she realized she enjoyed helping others and providing a safe space for them to heal, grow, and create the lives they wanted.
She joined HOPES after interning at NNH during her master’s program at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she became dedicated to supporting the Latinx community, particularly Spanish-speaking and underserved populations. After a year working as a licensed master’s social worker, she returned to NNH, pursuing her clinical social worker license to become a fully licensed therapist. She is committed to providing accessible mental health services to the community.
In her free time, America enjoys being a dog mom to her dachshund pup, Dante, named after the dog in the Disney movie “Coco”. She loves outdoor activities like paddleboarding at the lake and hiking, and she practices yoga and pilates. She also spends time painting and crafting creative projects.
