There are a lot of factors that deal with diabetes. Having A1C over 6.5%, fasting blood sugar test of 126 mg/dl or above and glucose tolerance of 200 mg/dL or above is considered diabetic. Prediabetes is having a A1C between 5.7 – 6.4%, a fasting blood sugar test of 100 – 125 mg/dL and a Glucose Tolerance Test between 140-199 mg/dL. Normal test results include having a A1C below 5.7%, 99 mg/dL or below on a Fasting Blood Sugar Test and a Glucose Tolerance test of less than 140 mg/dL or below.
