HOPES Expanded Offerings

Over the past six months, Northern Nevada HOPES’ original mission of caring for people living with HIV evolved into a mission of providing accessible healthcare services to the entire community. On September 17, 2012, we at HOPES expanded offerings and opened our doors to non-HIV positive individuals and, six months later, we continue to welcome new patients in need of affordable, high-quality healthcare. To remain a strong and viable health center for the foreseeable future, HOPES is currently applying for Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) designation, which will bring opportunities for increased federal funding and additional resources to our area.

As a community health center, HOPES now offers a range of comprehensive services that focus on the entire spectrum of individual wellness. Patients of HOPES have access to primary medical care, chronic disease management, women’s health services, behavioral health and counseling, social services, a full-service pharmacy and more. For specialty services not offered on-site, HOPES partners with outside providers in the community, further broadening the network of resources available to our patients.

Having a dedicated and diverse healthcare team means more individualized care and better health outcomes for each patient. At HOPES, our providers meet daily to review specific patient needs and to provide a truly team-based approach to care. This integrated model embraces the intersection of physical, mental, and social health and is a distinct endeavor in our community.

We believe that all Nevadans deserve quality medical care regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, health status, religion, sexual orientation or ability to pay. Our expansion ensures that we can continue caring for the medically underserved while strengthening the existing safety net for marginalized and disenfranchised populations. People living in poverty, the homeless, the LGBTQI community and those dealing with substance use and mental health issues can come to HOPES and receive expert medical care and support services in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

You can become a part of the HOPES community by calling (775) 786-4673. We welcome all individuals age 12 and over and accept most private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and the uninsured. Low-income patients can access discounted services based on a sliding fee scale.

Support your local community health center by becoming a patient at HOPES and receive the best in integrated healthcare in the heart of downtown Reno.
