COVID-19: A Message from HOPES’ CEO

By March 16, 2020 March 18th, 2020 Blog

HOPES Family –

We are actively responding to the potential impact the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) could have on our community, on our patients and our staff. We have assembled an internal COVID-19 Task Force and we are in communication with our community, regional and national partners, including the Washoe County Health District and the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC).

We are committed to caring for our patients and staff. We continue to implement and update protocols to ensure our high-quality care and services remain available to our patients in need. Out of an abundance of caution and following recommended best-practices, HOPES is asking patients with a fever, cough, and/or respiratory symptoms to call the clinic at (775) 786-4673 before coming in.

HOPES cannot test for COVID-19 at our clinic. When appropriate, HOPES patients will be referred to the Washoe County Health District for testing.

We want you to stay safe and encourage you to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette, as prevention is our best tool to reduce potential spread.

For the most up-to-date information about COVID-19 locally, visit the Washoe County Health District’s dedicated COVID-19 website: www.washoecounty.us/COVID19. For additional information about COVID-19 including how to protect yourself or what to do if you think you are sick, visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and patience as we must all work together navigating this uncertain time.

With best wishes for your continued good health,

Sharon Chamberlain
