Who We Are
Northern Nevada HOPES, HIV Outpatient Program, Education and Services, is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation which provides outpatient medical care, pharmacy services, social services, and supportive services for HIV-positive individuals in Northern Nevada. HIV-related outpatient medical care is also available for residents of northeastern California. Prevention education and outreach services are available in all Nevada counties except for Nye, Lincoln, Clark and Esmerelda Counties.
HOPES provides a comprehensive array of services including outpatient medical care, pharmacy, social services and supportive services. Our exceptional clinical staff’s expertise enables us to exceed the expectations of those who depend upon us, utilizing best practices. HIV-related medical care is provided by a multidisciplinary team consisting of Physicians, Physician Assistants, Advanced Practical Nurse, Registered Nurses, Registered Dietician, and a Registered Pharmacist, who specialize in HIV care. HOPES also provides primary care and women's health services.
In addition to providing care and services for those infected with HIV disease, case management services are available to those affected by HIV disease. HOPES is the central intake point in Northern Nevada for intake into the care system.
Funding for services is primarily provided by the Ryan White CARE Act, Housing and Urban Development, Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency, community support, private donations, and proceeds from special fundraisers.
No person will be denied services on the basis of race, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or the inability to pay. Charges are based on a sliding fee schedule, and there are caps on aggregate charges to clients. We bill Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. HIV-positive individuals receiving medical care at the VA Medical Center are eligible to apply for supportive services. |
