Consumer Advisory Board

Northern Nevada HOPES encourages the participation of “People Living With HIV” through our developing Consumer Advisory Board (CAB). Involvement of People Living With HIV (PLWH) is one of the most crucial, important and challenging issues at Northern Nevada HOPES. The Consumer Advisory Board is a board of HOPES consumers who represent the concerns of the clients to the agency and the Board of Directors, as a standing committee.

The CAB will exist to assist in the enhancement, creation, implementation and the evaluation activities of the programs that we offer. An interim CAB has been formed and is still in the process of recruitment, selection and election of its permanent members.

In no other illness is consumer involvement more important than in HIV. HIV consumer involvement is an essential part of any effective HIV medical practice or organization in order to:

Address patient needs,
Empower the HIV infected person
Get them involved.

If you are a HIV consumer, either a patient, a loved one, or a family member, let your voice be heard; get involved.

We look forward to increasing the involvement of PLWH who will represent HOPES clients and who will represent the demographics of those infected by HIV in our community. CAB members will serve on a voluntary basis. The Consumer Advisory Board meets every month.
